OISS and our campus partners offer many opportunities to get involved with the Lehigh community.
Ways to get Involved
International Friendship Families
Connect with a Lehigh staff or faculty for a semester or an academic year. The International Friendship Family Program matches incoming international undergraduate students with local Lehigh families.
Language Groups
Conversation Partners and Global Conversation & Arts provide opportunities to practice conversational English, while the Language Conversation Group connects foreign language students with native speakers.
EAT! Experience American Taste
Lehigh faculty and staff can host international students in their homes to share a meal together.
Global Union
The GU is a coalition of student clubs and organizations that promote global awareness and cultural understanding within the Lehigh community and the Lehigh Valley.

Visiting Scholar Meet-Ups
Staying at Lehigh as a visiting scholar will be hard work but it’s also a great opportunity to connect with other scholars and their families, share your culture and make friends. At least once a month, scholars and their faculty hosts will meet for coffee, tea and light snacks. The format of the meet-ups will be determined by what scholars request; some will be very informal with time to chat with each other, and others will have a short program, with scholars sharing their research with the group or with guest speakers presenting on topics of interest.

International Flags
Lehigh students, faculty and staff are welcome to check out international flags for any of their on-campus events from OISS. Please fill out this form at least five business days prior to your event.
