LU/UN Faculty Fellows

Our first major initiative aligned with Lehigh's ECOSOC NGO accreditation is the launch of the Lehigh University / United Nations Faculty Fellows Program, begun in September 2025. This new initiative, believed to be the first of its kind in the world, enables Lehigh faculty to directly engage with senior UN diplomats and Member States officials, NGO Presidents, and global thought leaders at UN headquarters in New York City and beyond.

The first cohort of 16 Lehigh ECOSOC badge holders include faculty from all of Lehigh's five colleges. There areas of UN interest span a wide range of sectors, including catastrophe modeling, assistive technology, human rights in Sudan, geopolitical stability in Mali, refrigerants, microbial ecology, Generative AI, etc.
