20 years ago, Lehigh became only the sixth university to ever attain a Non-Governmental Organization accreditation at the UN, and the Lehigh University/United Nations (LU/UN) Partnership was born.
Over the next two decades, that Partnership has become the gateway for thousands of faculty, staff and students to directly engage at the United Nations with senior diplomats, Ambassadors, NGO Presidents and world renown figures such as Malala, Harry Belafonte and Leonardo DiCaprio. For Lehigh, the U.N. is one of our classrooms, an internship hub, a research center, a vehicle for youth voices to be heard, and an opportunity to interact with global decision makers on some of the world’s most pressing issues.
