Whether you are a first-year student, doctoral student, staff member or professor, there are dozens of opportunities each semester for you to engage directly with UN officials on campus and at UN headquarters in New York City.

United Nations Interns

As of January 2022, 49 Lehigh University students have received internships at the UN. While there, they are speech writers, social media marketers, UNESCO researchers, NGO relations staff members, and designers of globally viewed briefings. Our student interns have engaged with senior UN diplomats, met with the Secretary General and liaised with various world leaders.

Watch for announcements regarding the next round of internship availabilities. Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria:

  • Graduating senior or graduate student with at least a 3.3 GPA
  • International living experience
  • Strong writing skills
  • An in-depth understanding of global issues
  • Exceptional previous internship experiences

Internships are unpaid, and begin in either January, June or August, and last three to six months. For more information contact Bill Hunter.
