This workshop introduces strategies for using the words and ideas in scholarly sources in order to avoid plagiarism and effectively support your main points in writing. Workshop participants will analyze example student paragraphs and will then write their own short paragraphs in order to practice the skills that they learn. There will also be feedback and correction from the workshop leader as well as from other students.

This workshop is intended for multilingual writers in any stage of the writing process of their doctoral dissertation. This workshop will provide an overview of the key grammar, vocabulary, and tenses used in the various parts of a dissertation. We will also address strategies for self-editing. Please bring your laptop and writing. In this workshop, ICAPE language specialists will collaborate with current doctoral candidates from various disciplines working on their dissertations.

This workshop will prepare graduate students who are ITA candidates for Part I of the TOPSS: Make an Announcement. Students will learn how to make a clear announcement and how to transition smoothly to Part II of the TOPSS. Guided practice with feedback will be offered.
