Lehigh in Paris Information Session

Take your Humanities and Social Sciences Electives Abroad next Summer!

Do you want to study abroad in Paris this summer? Then come to this info session where Professor John Savage will discuss the faculty led Lehigh in Paris program. Lehigh in Paris is an exciting summer study abroad program devoted to discovering the history and culture of the city of Paris. During the month of July, students live together in Paris and participate in excursions and outings four days per week. Classes take place around the city as students discover famous monuments, museums and neighborhoods while studying their origins and significance. The program offers six Lehigh Humanities credits, though students can opt to take up to eight credits if they wish. The program is open to all students, regardless of major. No French language or European history background is required.

CIEE Passport Caravan | Study Abroad

The CIEE Passport Caravan is a one-day, on-campus event sponsored by Lehigh University and the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) as part of the Generation Study Abroad initiative. The goal of the initiative is to make study abroad possible for more U.S. students by breaking down the three major barriers to study abroad: cost, curriculum, and culture. 5x10 Symposium - Do you want to Study Abroad?

Overview of the process to integrate an international experience into their Lehigh education. Learn about the different types of international opportunities and programs available abroad; how to plan your experiences; financing and scholarships available.

American Holidays | International Center for Academic and Professional English

The holiday season can be overwhelming! This workshop provides an overview of the American holiday season. Learn backgrounds, traditions, and even key language associated with popular holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc., and some “unofficial” holidays such as Black Friday.

Developing the Dissertation for Multilingual Speakers (Graduate students only) | International Center for Academic and Professional English

This workshop is intended for multilingual writers in any stage of the writing process of their doctoral dissertation. This workshop will provide an overview of the key grammar, vocabulary, and tenses used in the various parts of a dissertation. We will also address strategies for self-editing. Please bring your laptop and writing. In this workshop, ICAPE language specialists will collaborate with current doctoral candidates from various disciplines working on their dissertations.

This workshop builds on the 20 Most Common Errors, helping participants master more complex sentence structures. Please bring a brown-bag lunch; feel free to bring a draft you are working on.

TOPSS Presentation Skills Workshop

9:45 am - 11:15 am

Learn how to make a successful presentation in an academic setting, including preparation, organization, audience interaction, non-verbal communication, visuals and clear speech.



TOPSS Articulately Making an Announcement 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

This workshop will prepare graduate students who are ITA candidates for Part I of the TOPSS: Make an Announcement. Students will learn how to make a clear announcement and how to transition smoothly to Part II of the TOPSS. Guided practice with feedback will be offered.
