The International Student Career Accelerator (ISCA) is Lehigh’s platform for connecting international students to the resources, experiences, and support already available across campus, so they can use them more strategically and effectively in their career journey. The ISCA brings these opportunities together into clear, self-directed pathways that help students connect their education to global employability. It is about helping international students develop their career, confidence, and a competitive global edge.
The ISCA is organized into three modular tracks, each focused on a core area of career readiness: global and intercultural career readiness, professional practice through experiential learning, and entrepreneurship, innovation, and global impact. With targeted resources and structured reflection, this ICSA will help with the development of employer-selected workplace competencies.
Students can engage with one or more tracks based on their goals and timing. Whether preparing for a job search in the U.S. through Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Cirricular Practical Training (CPT), exploring opportunities in their home country, or pursuing careers elsewhere in the world, the International Student Career Accelerator helps international students navigate Lehigh’s resources with clarity and purpose. Together, these pathways reflect Lehigh’s ongoing commitment to international student success, during their studies and well beyond graduation.
Module 1:
Intercultural Communication and Confidence
Build the skills to work anywhere. Learn and practice professional English to present your knowledge, skills, and experiences as career-ready strengths to employers around the world. Develop cross-cultural adaptability in both written and spoken communication.
Module 2:
Professional Experience and Skill Building
Put your learning into practice. Gain professional experience through internships, projects, and applied learning. Connect classroom knowledge to real-world work. Document your impact and present your skills with confidence to future employers.
Module 3:
Innovation and Global Impact
Turn ideas into global impact. Develop an entrepreneurial mindset by solving real-world challenges and designing creative, evidence-based solutions. Adapt your ideas for different cultural and economic contexts and explore how to transform them into actionable ventures or initiatives.
