Hande Gunduz

Hande Gunduz is an experienced scientist and educator at Koç University, where she has devoted more than ten years to cultivating a positive learning environment for her students and producing uniquely striking work in high-quality international papers in the academic community. She graduated from the university with a high GPA score and started integrated doctoral education after her undergraduate education. She completed her doctoral education with a score of 4.0, which is not easy to achieve. During her PhD, she was entitled to receive the Fulbright scholarship, which is given to a limited number of talented academic staff around the world and worked as a visiting PhD researcher scholar in the Chemistry Department of MIT for a year. After her graduation, she started her independent academic carrier at Koç University. She conducts scientific studies on the diagnosis and phototherapy of cancerous tissues. Her work in the synthesis of chemiluminescence agents used in high precision tumour imaging leads the way to new projects. Recently, she directed her studies on early-stage diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, which are more common with old age as the average human lifespan has increased recently.

A generative contributor to scientific literature, Dr. Gunduz’s research has been published numerous peer-reviewed articles in leading journals as well as highlighted in prominent conferences and symposiums around the world. In addition, she is the principal investigator of numerous completed and ongoing innovative and promising scientific projects. She also acts as a very productive mentor for many university students as a volunteer. She guides young people by evaluating career opportunities both domestically and internationally. By bringing together students' desires, expectations and abilities with the opportunities of the changing and developing world, she guides young people on the business and life issues they will focus on and experience in the future.
 

Hande is an active member of several scientific communities, including the Royal Society of Chemistry, and serves as a reviewer for respected journals such as the Turkish Journal of Chemistry. She is also dedicated to volunteering, being an executive board member of the Fulbright Alumni Association and a member of the "Turkish Education Volunteers" foundation. With a strong track record in scientific research, innovation, and mentorship, Dr. Gunduz continues to push the boundaries of chemistry to create more effective solutions for cancer diagnosis and treatment.
