Lehigh in Paris Information Session

Do you want to study abroad in Paris this summer? Then come to this info session where Professor John Savage will discuss the faculty led Lehigh in Paris program. Lehigh in Paris is an exciting summer study abroad program devoted to discovering the history and culture of the city of Paris. During the month of July, students live together in Paris and participate in excursions and outings four days per week. Classes take place around the city as students discover famous monuments, museums and neighborhoods while studying their origins and significance. The program offers six Lehigh Humanities credits, though students can opt to take up to eight credits if they wish. The program is open to all students, regardless of major. No French language or European history background is required.

ServeAbroad Antigua Information Session Summer 2020

Looking for something to do this summer? Consider volunteering abroad in Antigua! Attend this information session to learn more about ServeAbroad Antigua, a 9 day service trip to the beautiful islands of Antigua and Barbuda. Past service projects include painting under resourced schools, assisting teachers in a school for children with disabilities, and working on a Rotary community project. Students will also have the opportunity to explore the islands! (Note: ServeAbroad Antigua is non-credit bearing.)

CANCELLED: Lehigh in Shanghai Information Session | Summer 2020

Interested in studying abroad and engaging in an internship this summer? Then attend this information session to learn more about the Lehigh in Shanghai study abroad program led by Professor Yao. This program focuses on learning about Chinese culture and business protocol in a Chinese company. Students have the opportunity to take 6 credits, 3 of which consist of an internship experience. While at internship placements, students will be working in various types of environments in Shanghai, including multinationals, joint ventures, state-owned companies, foreign-owned companies, hospitals, NGOs, schools, or government offices.

Come join us for our Global Village open house and lunch on Tuesday, February 4 at 12:15 PM and Tuesday, February 11 at 12:15 PM at STEPS Room #102 to learn more about the Iacocca Global Village 2020 and how you can apply for a scholarship. This is an opportunity of a lifetime where you will live and work with students and professionals from 30-35 countries and learn about leadership in a global context. This series introduces both graduate and undergraduate students to the process and procedures for nationally and internationally competitive grants and fellowships. The first workshop will be a screening of the Nation Center for Faculty Development and Diversity's guide to grant writing, followed by informal advising sessions and Q&A with advisers from our offices.

This full-day conference will bring together writing instructors, research librarians, and TESOL professionals from Lehigh Valley and beyond. Presenters from Lehigh Valley K-12, higher education, and adult literacy institutions will discuss translanguaging as practice in multilingual classrooms.

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Participants may earn four Act 48 Continuing Professional Education credits.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, this workshop is canceled.

This workshop focuses on English outside the classroom, especially as it relates to U.S. culture. Participants will discuss language usage in daily life and have opportunities to share their experience. What does someone mean when they say “Catch the Packer Express or the LANTA”? How do you respond when asked, “What’s up?” Join ICAPE’s language specialists in exploring common English phrases and idioms as well as some of the language of Lehigh. All participants must register in advance.

Global Teaching and Learning Fellowship | International Affairs

The Office of International Affairs, in cooperation with the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, sponsors the Global Teaching and Learning Fellows (GTLF) initiative to support faculty with internationalizing new and existing courses.

Faculty seeking to develop a course abroad or add a significant international component to an existing course are invited to apply for the Global Teaching and Learning Fellows and Course Internationalization Grants.

Any full-time faculty member (including Professors of Practice) is eligible to apply for the Fellows. Adjunct faculty are not eligible.

Homestay Family Interest Survey

The Office of International Affairs hosts programs for participants who come to Lehigh's campus from around the world, from high school-age through adults well-established in their careers.

All of these programs include experiencing American culture and some new programs we are considering also include a homestay with an American family.
