The Office of International Students & Scholars is hosting their annual Winter Closet from November 7-11. The Winter Closet aims to assist students without warm clothing to "shop" for winter clothing items. We accept all size and types of winter clothing including gloves/mittens, socks, hats, winter coats, sweaters, long sleeve shirts, pants, boots, etc.

Items can be dropped off in the Coxe Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room (a sign will be posted) any time between Friday, September 30 and Tuesday, November 1.

The inaugural Iacocca Leadership Speaker is Sylvia Acevedo, a trailblazing entrepreneur, business leader and engineer who started her career working in NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and most recently served as CEO of the Girl Scouts of the USA.

The Iacocca Leadership Speaker Series honors auto industry icon Lee Iacocca’s legacy of leadership, tenacity, and social responsibility, and his commitment to supporting international education.

Acevedo will join Richard Verma ’90, former U.S. ambassador to India and Lehigh trustee, to share what she’s learned as a leader in industries as varied as science, government, big tech and education; how she’s working to increase access for women and those of diverse backgrounds; and why she thinks it’s important to cultivate a global outlook.

The event is part of Founder's Weekend, an annual campus celebration commemorating Lehigh University founder Asa Packer. It is free and open to the public. Attendees can register in advance through the Founder’s Weekend website.

The 2022 Global Citizenship Education Conference invites us back into the ear and, specifically, to listening as a way to restore some balance.

The pandemic, war, mass shootings and racism of recent times have left everyone reeling and searching for ways to reestablish their balance in a world at times unrecognizable. As we know, our ability to balance is something we find not in our e-calendars or even our activism, but through our ears. As we seek a more stable positioning between the dizzying highs and lows of experiencing world-as-a-mess and then returning to our more hopeful commitments, perhaps we would be well-served to begin in the auditory realm.

This conference is widely open to academics, non-profit professionals, educators, activists, artists, poets and those in between... Our speakers will present a variety of ideas around listening in intimate and global arenas. There will be ample space for engagement and conversation.

Claudia Tobar, chief innovation officer and professor at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador, will discuss COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) and virtual exchange and share why the innovative pedagogies are part of the internationalization strategy at USFQ. The workshop is sponsored by the Office of International Affairs and the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning. Lunch is provided. Please register in advance.

As the world faces significant challenges such as the global pandemic, the war in Ukraine and climate change, the United Nations is struggling to devise strategies to cope with these issues. Former UN Senior Diplomat Ramu Damodaran will address these problems head on in this event presented by the Lehigh-UN Partnership in collaboration with the College of Education and Global Citizenship Program. Join us for the annual Go Abroad Fair to learn about opportunities to study, research, and intern on global programs at Lehigh and around the world. Meet with Lehigh faculty and our partner programs to find the best option to fit your needs. Students are eligible to go abroad beginning with their first winter break all the way through senior year.

Two NGOs will present on the importance of female empowerment through leadership. Participants will engage in a mock debate to practice their leadership skills in a team setting.
