Dhivya Balasubramanian
While still completing her MBA in Business Analytics at Lehigh University, Dhivya Balasubramanian ‘24G received a call from a Goldman Sachs recruiter about a potential position. Still months away from completing her degree, the Lehigh MBA team helped her fast-track her studies by taking extra credits, ensuring she could finish early and step into her new role. Today, she works as an Associate of Capital Analysis, Planning, and Reporting at the investment bank’s New York City office.
Before attending Lehigh, Balasubramanian spent several years working as a finance professional in Chennai, India, gaining valuable experience in the banking industry. Her interactions with colleagues at European and American banks inspired her to pursue an MBA. She was encouraged to explore Lehigh University at the suggestion of her manager at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco, who had received his MBA at Lehigh a decade earlier.
Initially concerned about the costs of studying in the United States, Balasubramanian discussed her options with Lehigh officials and decided to apply, receiving scholarship funds that helped make her studies possible. The MBA team helped her customize her academic path, enhance her resume and networking skills, and connect with key professionals in the banking industry.
Balasubramanian credits much of her success to Lehigh’s collaborative, team-oriented environment, which helped her develop the skills needed for the fast-paced world of Goldman Sachs. For prospective students, her advice is simple: work hard, seize the right opportunities, and network with people from diverse backgrounds. Lehigh University gave her the tools to thrive, she said, positioning her to propel her career forward.
