JP Balmonte is a microbial ecologist, biogeochemist, and oceanographer interested in identifying ways of leveraging scientific research and innovations - especially those relevant to microbial and aquatic sciences - to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also aims to increase partnerships between Lehigh, academic societies, and the UN in support of the SDGs.
