SPRING 2024
Spring Semester OPT Workshops
OISS will be hosting several workshops this Spring for F-1 students planning to graduate this May or August. If you are interested in applying for Optional Practical Training (OPT), please plan to attend a workshop. All dates and times are listed at the link below.
Hershey Park
Date: Saturday, May 4
Depart Campus: 9:30 am
Depart Hershey Park: 7:00 pm
Cost: $18.00
Celebrate the end of the Spring semester with a trip to the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania! Tickets are only $18 (originally $39), with transportation included. The deadline to sign up is Sunday, April 14.
International Bon Voyage
Date: Thursday, May 16
Time: 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Location: Outside between STEPS and Maginnes Hall
OISS wants to celebrate the accomplishments of our International Mountain Hawks! Open to undergraduates and graduate students graduating this May or summer, as well as their family members. Light appetizers will be served with both an alcoholic & non-alcoholic option to toast. Registration is highly encouraged.
SUMMER 2024
Ice-Cream Social
Date: Friday, May 31
Time: 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Location: Picnic Table outside Coxe Hall (rain location: Global Union)
Kick off the summer with a frozen treat! Various popsicles, freezepops, and ice-cream bars will be available.
Movie and Popcorn Night
Date: Friday, June 14
Time: 8:00 - 10:00 pm
Location: Global Union (Coxe Hall 215)
Grab a bean bag and settle in for a movie night with some popcorn and other theatre snacks. Check our instagram this week to vote for the movie you'd like to watch!
Make and Take a Plant
Date: Friday, June 28
Time: 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Location: Global Union (Coxe Hall 215)
Calling all green thumbs (and brown thumbs)! Decorate a pot for your new plant friend. Each attendee will be provided a flower pot, paints, and a flower or plant of their choice. Materials will be first come, first serve.
Iron Pigs Baseball Game
Date: Friday, July 12
Depart Campus: 6:30 pm
Return to Campus: approximately 10:30 pm
Location: Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA (approx 20 minutes from campus)
Each July we invite international students to join the Global Lehigh staff for a night out at the Iron Pigs game. The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs are the minor league baseball team for the Philadelphia Phillies! Sign up by Sunday, June 30.

Game and Pizza Night
Date: Friday, July 26
Time: 8:00 - 10:00 pm

Come play your favorite board game and enjoy some pizza! There will be several game options, but bring along your favorite one if you'd like to share.
Movie Night with Root Beer Floats
Date: Friday, August 9
Time: 8:00 - 10:00 pm
Location: Global Union (Coxe Hall 215)
Have you ever had a classic American root beer float?! This summer treat is made with root beer (a non-alcoholic soda, vanilla ice-cream, whipped cream, and a cherry). Make your own and settle into a bean bag to enjoy a movie. Check our instagram this week to vote on what move you'd like to see.
