Comparative and International Education

The Comparative and International Education (CIE) program is a global, crosscultural and transdisciplinary program that prepares graduates to work in and with schools—both in the U.S. and internationally—as agents of change. Our signature degrees, the M.Ed. in globalization and educational Change and M.A. in comparative and international education, have a mixed instructional format—on campus, online, off-site—designed to accommodate our students, many of whom are professionals in the field and work internationally.

Global Citizenship

The Global Citizenship Program is a cross-college, multi-disciplinary undergraduate certificate program designed to accommodate students from all fields, including engineering and science, business, arts, humanities and social sciences.

Globalization and Social Change Initiative

The Globalization and Social Change Initiative (GSCI) integrates research and teaching across Lehigh's four colleges on the economic, social, cultural and political impacts of globalization. We offer an interdisciplinary undergraduate global studies major. It's a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary program—students take global classes from professors in more than a half dozen departments, from international relations to anthropology to history, so they can better understand and manage the impact of globalization.

International Relations

Lehigh is among the few higher educational institutions in the United States that has a separate department of international relations (IR). This means that undergraduate students with a particular interest in international affairs will benefit from a concentrated program of study that few other schools offer. Our courses are designed to enable students to analyze problems in manner that is theoretically informed and conceptually rigorous, to place current global problems in historical perspective, and to write, speak and think with clarity and precision.
