Garba Indian Dance | Global Union

Thursday, October 9, 2014 - 10:00pm to 11:59pm

During the event, students will learn how to dance in the style of Garba by different student teachers. The event is sponsored by Lehigh After Dark, LEELA, and India Club and is hosted by the Indian Students Association. Indian snacks will be served.

Garba is a type of Indian dance performed during the Hindu holiday of Navratri. During the event, leaders from the Indian Students Association will teach others how to do a traditional Indian dance. Food will be served. The goal of the event is to share one aspect of Indian culture with the Lehigh community to promote unity across campus. We plan to promote this event with fliers, posters, daily announcements, and a Facebook page. We will finalize what we need to buy (dancing accessories, costumes, etc). We will order these next week along with starting choreography for the dance. Practice for the dance will take place until the day of the event.
