The International Center for Academic and Professional English offers workshops to help international graduate students perfect their English language skills and achieve their academic goals. Upcoming workshops include TOPSS Overview and Rationale; Writing Workshop: The Top 20 Grammatical Errors and How to Avoid Them; TOPSS Preparation: Academic Presentation Skills; and On Your Way to the Dissertation: Effective Grammar and Vocabulary Choices.
What's New in International Center for Academic and Professional English
Due the increasing language proficiency of Lehigh students and the broader range of services these students require, the ESL Department has a new name and a new location. ESL is now called the International Center for Academic and Professional English (ICAPE).
As of August 8, 2017, the ICAPE offices will be located in Maginnes on the first floor (Room 246).
Members of Lehigh University’s English as a Second Language program shared their best practices by presenting at the TESOL 2017 International Conference in Seattle, Washington, in March, and publishing in the spring 2017 issue of PennTESOL East Voices, a regional TESOL journal.

The Spring semester of IELC will begin on Monday, February 8th. If you have been required because of a TA-ship, or an offer of your admission, please be sure and register at the ESL office as soon as possible. If you are not required, but need some extra help, space is limited - register today!
Each semester, English as a Second Language classes visit Lehigh's art galleries and integrate art into their programs. After all, art is a universal language and can cross cultural boundaries.
We are looking for Resident Assistants for our 2017 Summer StepUp Program. Do you enjoy meeting new people & learning about different cultures? Are you planning to take summer courses or intern near campus? Our RA's are an intrigal part of our program, welcoming students to not just Lehigh University, but also the US. We count on our RA's to be both role models and mentors to our students. Help plan and participate in social activities, live in campus housing, help students acclimate to American university life.
