Attend a Global Conference about Women's Empowerment at the United Nations

The Lehigh University-United Nations Partnership invites you to join us on a trip to the United Nations on Tuesday, March 21, to attend the 61st Commission on the Status of Women. The cost of the trip is $20/person, plus the cost of lunch. The bus will depart from campus at 8:30 a.m., and we plan to arrive back on campus by 8:30 p.m.

In order to claim a spot on the trip, you must:

  1. Complete the registration form
  2. See Karen Weaver in Coxe Hall to make your $20 payment, cash or check, and reserve your seat on the bus. If you're not on campus, you can email Karen at now to reserve your spot and pay when classes resume on March 20.

The deadline to complete both steps is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17.

When you register, the answer to "Do you have a valid UN grounds pass for UN Headquarters in New York?" is NO. The information you enter on the registration will be used for the security clearance process, so be sure to use the name that is listed on your government-issued ID. To answer the other questions on the form: The organization you represent is Lehigh. It is associated with DPI.

About the CSW:

This year's primary theme is "Women's Economic Empowerment in the Changing World of Work," with an emerging focus on "The Empowerment of Indigenous Women." Please join us for a day of NGO-led panels and UN briefings on these themes, including an American Association of University Women (AAUW) co-organized briefing entitled, "Young Women's Leadership and Voices at the UN" (invitation attached). The day will also feature a Lehigh student-led panel focused on our partner NGO, African Citizens Development Foundation.
